It’s exciting to have Campaign 2012 underway with the team assembling, endorsements lining up, and offers to volunteer. This site will be joined with a Facebook page, to keep everyone connected to the campaign and to invite Friends to join us. Although June 5, 2012 sounds like a long way off, there is much to get accomplished to cross the victory line. Your help, support and good old grassroots campaigning will make that happen!
Now more than ever, experience and leadership will make a difference. Although the County’s fiscal house is in order, the next few years will bring a seismic shift to local government, with the state transitioning programs to the County. Our public safety leaders will be facing the challenges of early release of state prisoners, re-entry of low-level offenders to our jails, and the loss of revenue from both state and federal program cuts. Our children and seniors will also experience the loss of revenues and programs that support their basic needs for food and shelter. Our economy thrives on the strength of our small businesses, and there is much work to do to grow those jobs, promote our region for economic investment and put people back to work! The diversity of our county has great potential and opportunity.
