Greetings Friends! Re-election Campaign 2008 has kicked into high gear, and I’m proud to have received tremendous support with both endorsements and contributions that already make this a winning campaign! That support comes from all parts of the Third District and reflects on the experience, commitment and accomplishments I’ve brought to the job as your Supervisor. This website provides you information on accomplishments, goals, supporters, campaign insights and how you can help. As I look ahead to what I want to continue working on for you, it certainly includes maintaining the County’s fiscal stability, and protecting the priorities to keep our communities safe, healthy and economically strong. I’ve moved forward working on the need in our communities for health care, educational opportunities, jobs, and housing. With your support, these priorities will be protected and advanced. So please sign up, let me hear what is important to you, and join this winning campaign!
HERE’S WHAT SOME SUPPORTERS HAVE SAID:
“Supervisor Long is a proven, experienced and trusted leader,” said County Superintendent of Schools, Dr. Charles Weis,“We need her to continue that leadership on the Board of Supervisors.”
“Supervisor Long’s service to Fillmore and all of the Santa Clara Valley in leading the way to re-open the Santa Paula Hospital has truly saved lives and provides our communities quality health care and emergency room services. She is dedicated to representing all the residents, with respect and compassion,” said Fillmore Vice-Mayor Cecilia Cuevas.
“Supervisor Kathy Long works for all of us - seniors, the working class, children and families, farmworkers, and businesses. She understands what it takes to protect our wonderful county, our neighborhoods and our livelihoods. We are proud to be strong supporters for her re-election. Ventura County needs Supervisor Long’s experience,” said Hank Lacayo (State President, Congress of California Seniors) and Leah Lacayo (Director, Ventura County Fair Board).
Community leader Gregory Glover said “Having worked a number of years with Kathy, it is obvious that her commitment to help the community goes above and beyond her role as Supervisor. I have known her to be actively involved as a leader and supporter with the Camarillo Girls and Boys Club, as well as many other community organizations. With Kathy, she puts all politics aside; it’s about what is best for our community.”
